Baltimore Bike Tour #4: The B&O & Historic Sites Tour
Tour # 4 The South/Southwest Baltimore Tour – almost entirely on streets, many historic sites.
This 10 mile fairly level tour weaves it’s way through some of the most historic landmarks in Baltimore City, including Carroll Park and the grounds of the Mount Clare Mansion, the B&O Museum, the Babe Ruth Museum, the home of H.L.Mecken (our famous turn of the century journalistic curmudgeon), and Westminster Cemetery, where lies Edgar Allen Poe and some of Baltimore’s most notable historic figures. The tour starts with M&T Bank Stadium where the Ravens play, and ends with Oriole Park at Camden Yards. You will hear Baltimore City’s official history, as well as some of it’s unofficial history as we pass some of the city’s oldest and most historic row homes. Neighborhoods we will pass through include Federal Hill, Sharp-Leadenhall, Otterbein, Pigtown, Sowebo, Union Square, Little Lithuania, and the University of Maryland complex.
